30p & 26 hours in a week. Requirements:
1-2 years of working experience as a Phlebotomist Experience with straight, butterfly needles and colour tubes 2 years of blood draw, venipunctures experience Valid phlebotomy certification Duties may include but are not necessarily limited to the following:
Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc. Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles Fully understand all of the physicians' orders Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order Checks all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct Package specimens for transport Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels, follows different procedures as outlined by specific to protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain integrity of the specimen. Understands and complies with OSHA and DEP regulations Wears appropriate attire including all PPE Attend annual department trainings Answer telephone calls, read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries Other duties as assigned Prepare blood and blood components Collect blood samples from patients Collect blood specimens by venipuncture or capillary puncture Drawing blood and other specimens from patients Obtain blood specimens and collect non-blood specimens such as urine, for laboratory testing Obtain blood cultures and collect blood specimens according to requirements Obtain blood specimens by performing venipunctures Collect blood primarily through venipuncture Process blood specimens for testing in the laboratory Collect and process blood specimens for testing Collect urine drug specimens, paternity specimens and legal blood alcohol specimens following protocols Obtain blood specimens by performing venipuncture and finger sticks Collect blood samples from patients by venipuncture or microtechniques Draw blood, phlebotomy certification Process blood specimens for testing in the laboratory Collect blood specimens from patient veins and fingers Collect blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques Package specimens and requisitions immediately after blood draw Explain blood collection procedure to patient Identify patient and select venipuncture equipment appropriate for test, draw blood specimens Recommended Skills Labeling Specimens Medical Terminology Phlebotomy Techniques Specimen Collection Techniques Apply to this job.
